SINGLE LAYER COLD BONDED ROOFING SYSTEM WITH THERMAL INSULATION ON REINFORCED CONCRETE ROOF DECK
FORCE 4000 FMG single layer roofing system combines the well known characteristics of a polyester reinforced polymer (SBS) modified bitumen membrane with the speed and ease of a cold applied bonding system.

Applications


  • A more robust and higher performance alternative to single ply (PVC, TPO, etc.) membranes.
  • A tried and tested economical roofing system using modern cold bond adhesives for safe, flame free application.
  • Suitable for use as a single layer fully adhered system on insulated concrete, timber and metal decks.
  • Suitable for use on new build or renovation projects.

Performance


  • A minimum 50 year design life expectancy (BS 8747), available with a 25 year GOLDSHIELD guarantee.
  • High melt point and low temperature flexibility ensures stability in all ambient temperatures.
  • Stabilised polyester reinforcement ensures stability with no shrinkage, high tensile strength and excellent point loading characteristics.

Roof deck


  • Reinforced concrete laid in accordance with BS 8217:2005.
  • Axter does not recommend the use of screeds to create falls, preferring instead the use of tapered thermal insulation. If screeds are to be specified then they should be installed in accordance with BS 6229:2003 and be allowed to dry out before laying any reinforced bitumen membrane roofing. Lytag based screeds should not be specified.

Insulation


  • Suitable for laying over a range of thermal insulation options including HYTHERM PIR, HYTHERM high density EPS and mineral / rock fibre flat and tapered boards.

Surface options


  • FORCE 4000 FMG is a self protected membrane available in a choice of six colours.

Installation


  • Fully adhered vapour control layer.
  • Thermal insulation attachment with cold applied adhesive.
  • Cold bonded (RUBIOCOL) application of membrane. Laps can be sealed by cold bond (RUBIOFIX) or torched.
  • Installed by accredited Axtershield Installers.
