EXCEL is a unique robust polyester reinforced Alpa®-mix polymer modified bitumen cap sheet with exceptional performance and ageing characteristics. BBA Agrément Certificate No. 94/3037C applies.

HYRANGER SPOT is a self adhesive / heat activated polyester reinforced polymer (SBS) modified base layer. The under surface is coated with a self adhesive compound with exceptional adhesive characteristics and the surface is finished with a macro perforated film for safety reasons.

Applications

	•	A tried and tested traditional roofing system using modern self adhesive membranes for safe application.
	•	Suitable for use as a two layer fully adhered system on insulated concrete, timber and metal decks. As an alternative EXCEL can be laid as a partially bonded single layer directly on to the thermal insulation, apply to Axter for a detailed specification.
	•	Suitable for use on new build or renovation projects.

Performance

	•	A minimum 50 year design life expectancy (BS 8747), available with a 25 year GOLDSHIELD guarantee.
	•	High melt point and low temperature flexibility ensures stability in all ambient temperatures.
	•	Stabilised polyester reinforcement ensures stability with no shrinkage, high tensile strength and excellent point loading characteristics.

Roof deck

	•	Plywood or OSB boards installed in accordance with BS 8217:2005.
	•	Such boards can be laid to a fall but tapered insulation can be used as an alternative.

Insulation

Suitable for laying over a range of thermal insulation options including HYTHERM PIR and HYTHERM high density EPS flat and tapered boards.

Surface options

•

EXCEL is a self protected membrane available in a choice of six colours. An aluminium covering (ARMALU) is also available.

Installation

	•	Fully adhered vapour control layer.
	•	Thermal insulation attachment with cold applied adhesive.
	•	Self adhesive base layer with torch applied cap sheet.
	•	Alternative application by mechanical fastening, apply to Axter for details.
	•	Installed by accredited Axtershield Installers.
