Existing waterproofing – Single layer waterproofing system with thermal insulation

Single ply PVC-p membranes should only be applied over a continuous substrate which provides full support. Substrate materials used to form the roof deck in flat roofs should be those listed in BS 6229:2003 Flat roofs with continuously supported coverings – Code of practice.

The waterproofing system should conform to the requirements of British Standard BS EN 13956: Flexible sheets for waterproofing – Plastic and rubber sheets for roof waterproofing – Definitions and characteristics.

Axter’s ECOLINE range of PVC-p single ply membranes has been awarded BBA Agrément Certificate number 12/4947.

Supporting deck	Existing membrane or asphalt waterproofing system
Deck preparation	Ensure substrate is sound, cut and seal all blisters, remove details. Prime all surfaces with a suitable bituminous primer and allow to dry in accordance with Annex C of British Standard BS 6229:2003.
Vapour control layer	Existing waterproofing will act as the vapour control layer.
Thermal insulation	Coated glass tissue faced PIR insulation, thickness to meet required U-value laid in HYRA-STIK PU adhesive.
Waterproofing system	ECOLINE ADH 1.2 mm fully bonded in ADH ADHESIVE (solvent free).
Principal details	ECOLINE FM 1.2 using FM/D CONTACT ADHESIVE.
Pipe penetrations	ECO/D.
Finishes	Self protected system.

Product substitution

ECOLINE ADH 1.2 and ECOLINE FM 1.2 can be replaced with 1.5 versions for 20 year warranty.
