Concrete deck – Single layer waterproofing system with thermal insulation

Single ply PVC-p membranes should only be applied over a continuous substrate which provides full support. Substrate materials used to form the roof deck in flat roofs should be those listed in BS 6229:2003 Flat roofs with continuously supported coverings – Code of practice.

The waterproofing system should conform to the requirements of British Standard BS EN 13956: Flexible sheets for waterproofing – Plastic and rubber sheets for roof waterproofing – Definitions and characteristics.

Axter’s ECOLINE range of PVC-p single ply membranes has been awarded BBA Agrément Certificate number 12/4947.

Supporting deck	Reinforced concrete with screed to falls if required.
Deck preparation	Ensure deck is smooth (free of all but minor surface defects), dry, and free of dust, laitance and nibs. Prime with a suitable bituminous primer and allow to dry.
Vapour control layer	HYRANGER 25/25 TS torch applied
Thermal insulation	Coated glass tissue faced PIR insulation, thickness to meet required U-value laid in Axter’s HYRA-STIK PU adhesive
Waterproofing system	ECOLINE ADH 1.2 mm FULLY BONDED in ADH ADHESIVE (solvent free)
Principal details	ECOLINE FM 1.2 using FM/D CONTACT ADHESIVE

Product substitution

Above high humidity buildings the HYRANGER 25/25 TS can be replaced by Axter’s aluminium lined VAP AL.
ECOLINE ADH 1.2 and ECOLINE FM 1.2 can be replaced with 1.5 versions for 20 year warranty.
